Common names

Also known as; Mountain Ash & Tasmanian Oak

An amazing tree !
Those I planted here on my less than ideal north facing exposed area grew 3.5m in a year 😮

Sadly most succumbed to the very severe cold snap at the end of 2022, though one survived and is thriving; I’ve planted more and am enthusiastic about this Eucalyptus variety.

One 89m tall specimen recently (2021) found to be growing at a height of 900m in Tasmania, the height of Carrauntoohil.

The timber, as the common name suggests is very high quality constructional timber, and is used as such.

An attractive forest tree, with grass growing beneath it. A possible candidate for agroforestry 🤔
